I'm using windows so it's a bit different for me...

i have my phone neutered... and what i tried to do was go into the 1.1.4 ipsw (by renaming it to .zip), then i grabbed teh applelogo.img2 file, next i created the image that i wanted to use... and saved it as a .png file... after i did i used ft and did a

    ft applelogo.img2 newimg.png logo.img2

and it spit out the logo.img2 file correctly... but now what i don't understand is when i repack the zip file, rename it to ipsw and restore using it, my image doesn't show up. Is tehre any way to make it work this way?

    doesnt work for me

    ft applelogo.img2 logo.png newlogo.img2

creates a new file newlogo.img2. but this file isnt a valid img2 file. ive tried to replace the applelogo.img2 file in the ispw with it but it didnt work.

the retro apple from chronk-dev works by the way perfect - and the generated img2 from winpwn beta, too (even without alpha layer!)

but it seams that the files created with ft are currupt.

maybe somebody could upload a img2 file created with ft so i could test if the program only doesnt work on my pc

You can't just replace the applelogo.img2 in the stock firmware.

It has to be a custom made firmware, and even still sometimes it's best if you create the firmware from scratch using the image you want.
