Thank God i am not alone with this problem. Can i get the Original carrier bundle after pawning to 2.0.1. Perhaps after adding and changing the carrier bundle this issue has cropped up.
If I go back to the original carrier bundle after pawning it may just work though I am not sure.
Any ideas how I can get the original carrier bundle plist .

That wont change. it's a carrier issue. But if you want to get back using the old carrier file just go ahead. The carrier bundles are not altered by the once you downloaded from my service. The Original symlink was re-named to old_symlink. the original carrier bundle never touched. Just delete the symlink taht got created, rename the ol_* again, restart your iPhone and you are set.

Actually I never used the symlink method. I just opened up carrier bundle with edit plist pro on my mac and just changed the forwarding message boolean to "no" to remove the forward message pop up.
I did practice to make my custom carrier bundle using your free online link but never used it.
All is working good except I cannot change carrier choice from auto to manual and also see the partner carriers in network selection which only goes on a long searching..... with a spindle and nothing happens.
Appreciate if you can with your expertise look for a solution in solving this unless apple has refrained it .
I am on a jailbroken 2G 2.0.1 pwned firmware.

OK, so you did not use my custom carrier bundles. As I said I doubt it is due to changing forward messaging to no. I have done this since FW 1.1.3 on several iPhones.
The question is, which carrier bundle did you change? Are you on a legit plan? Or are you on an Apple supported carrier but without iPhone contract? Or on an unknown carrier?
However, to get back your original settings shift-restore (Win) or option-restore (Mac) to get the original settings back if you cant remember which settings you edited.
Cause this is not related to the building of custom carrier bundles but a general question on that topic, please consider starting a new thread on this. I already told you, the behavior you see is pretty common. As I said: I can 8and always could) see other carriers in that menu but cant use (select) them. they are just there for one reason: If your carrier does not cover all areas in your country he will hae 8internal) roaming partners while you travel those non-covered areas. But you cant decide when, it will get switched automatically. If your carrier does not have partners for doing so, you wont see anything in that menu.
just my 2 cent

Thank you so much for taking time out in replying.
I am not on a legit apple plan. I am in other country and on unlocked, jailbroken pwned 2.0.1 with vodafone as my carrier.(unknown)
I recall while on 114, I could see other listed carriers however, after 2.0.1 i donot. Vodafone has all partners and roaming too, it is my phone that is not listing them I guess.
I shall start a new thread and am sorry to put it in here since i was under the impression that carrier bundle may have something to do with it.

No problem. I would not recommend to edit the unknown carrier bundle. Apple made this one for international roaming situations - like travelling aboard.
Did you try to build a custom carrier bundle with my webservice?
Cause you are already at 2.0.1 and unlocked, try the standard version. This can be applied when already having the custom firmware on the iPhone. Just enter the values for your carrier and create the bundle. There is a custom readme that comes with the bundle. It has all steps for manual installation, it's easy.
After applying (if you want to try it) tell me here if it works for you.

Hi Dave,
just wanted to let you know that I just enhanced the service to support up to three MCC/MNC's associated to one carrier bundle so you can use it now for your carrier.
I am still struggeling with the version supporting Winpwn aswell but I will wait until Winpwn 2.5 is available and look into how to place and execute custom payloads there.

I am not sure if this helps but if you are having problems executing the script in winpwn/xpwn then make sure you place the script in the "/bin" directory instead of the CustomCarrierBundle directory. That was the only way I could get it to execute correctly.

Thanks for the tipp. Right now the script is sitting inside the carrier bundle and executing well (if i SSH into the iPhone). It's only purpose is to create a symlink, it's self-destroying then.
The problem is: I dont want the user to have to SSH into the iPhone, I want it to be executed automatically once. This can - as far as I understand - only happen if a LaunchDaemon is calling the script on the first reboot after installing a custom firmware.
This is working well with PwnageTool on the Mac but not with Winpwn due to incorrect user:group that I can't set to root:wheel on my webservice.
