Yep I've downloaded the custom bundle this afternoon.
Tried both using the untouched bundle generated from your web app, and then modifying it to replace the logos and tweak a bit the .plist.
No success in both cases, only the logo is viewed correctly, all the other settings have no effect.
I don't know if the term "virtual carrier" is correct, here in Spain it's the term used to define the operators that don't have their own infrastructure but use that of another carrier.
I believe so. Same one I used for the last 3 updates as well. I went in under var/mobile/carrierbundle (i think that is the location) and turned off show call forwarding and it worked. I did go to the custom carrier bundle as well and show call forwarding was off... Any other suggestions?
Also, anyway you can make it so that if we own helvetica the custom carrier name can be made with this font?
Sorry, i dont get this one. You are saying the custom bundle does not work? What carrier are you on. User xyzzy is on simyo, that causes trouble sometimes, since a long way back (firmware 1.1.3). We are on that one, but this seems to be a carrier/apple problem. Simyo is a reseller (reselling contracts with "real" carriers, simyo does not have their own infrastructure).
You can just do that on your own. Open the vreated png files and edit them. I can't offer helvetica in the webservice cause Helvetica is not free. Thats why I use the free DejaVu font family, that one is very close to Helvetica but free. Also, anyway you can make it so that if we own helvetica the custom carrier name can be made with this font?

Hi..yes, it does tel me how to CREATE one & am sure i can create one, but it also tells us that there's an older one that has to be RENAMED..i didnt find that old symlink folder anywhr..thats the problm..! can u help me locate it? ( i jus need to find tht symlink, rename it & then i know how to create a new one )
If you are not on an Apple supported carrier with a regular (non-iPhone) contract you will not find the fileQuite From Volksposts Readme:
IMPORTANT: If you are on an Apple supported carrier with a regular (non-iPhone) contract:
Locate the symlink 23415 (looks like a folder) and rename it to old_23415.
You can skip that part and start at step 2 Creating the symlink

rite..i am on an apple supported carrier - Vodafone-India is the official one here..whats that numbr next to symlink? the 23415 ? is it a random one u've written ? or shld i find that 23415 on mine ? ( i din find it though ) How must i find a relative number to my fone ?![]()
That MCC/MNC number 23415 is my number for vodafone UK..
Your MCC/MNC is the one you should have obtained from this part of volkspost thread.
You have to find out the MCC/MNC code of your simcard
If you are still at Firmware up to 1.1.4: On the iPhone start the Phone app and switch to the keypad and type
*3001#12345#*
tap the green dial button. That opens the hidden Field Test Application on the iPhone. Tap "Cell Information", some lines will be displayed.
On the end you will find something like
N:3 #:262
or
N:10 #:234
In the first case, the MCC/MNC is 26203 (if N only has one digit add a zero in front), in the second MCC/MNC is 23410.
Write it down!
If you are already at firmware 2.0: Same procedure to start "Field Test", then tap "GSM Cell Enviroment", then "Cell Information", then "Service Cell". Take a note of "Mobile Country Code" (MCC) and "Mobile Network Code" (MNC).
On firmware 2.1, the MCC/MNC have been moved again, they can be found (after dialing *3001#12345#*) under "MM Info" -> "Serving PLMN" (they are labeled, like on 2.0, "Mobile Country Code" and "Mobile Network Code". Same as above: If MNC has only one digit add a zero in front.
Take a note.
