    Exatcly...
    I think that if the iPhone is neutered (that means used BootNeuter) then you can use whatever firmware you find

    You have to have pwned it using the "iPwner" button in the pwnagetool for it to work on ANY computer.

    BootNeuter lets you unlock on any bootloader - it does NOT let you install custom firmware through iTunes.

    The first step in the process is what lets you run custom firmware!
    iPhone US 8GB
    FW 1.0.2--> iUnlock--> iPhoneSIMfree--> 1.1.1 --> 1.1.2--> Soft upgrade 1.1.3 --> 1.1.4 using signal.app
    iPhone UK 16GB
    FW 1.1.3 OOB --> 1.1.4 --> iPlus 1.2 unlocked!

    Yea, technically, you should be fine although its recommended for WinPwn to finally arrive. Its a matter of days, or even hours now....

    @Spinstorm: As I understood if you neuter the bootloader then you can install custom firmwares (that means if you use bootneuter and use the neuter option than all you have to do is install custom firmware).
    Whats the neuter option if its not for doing that?

    Anarchy, you are confusing the baseband bootloader and the main bootloader. They are different beasts.

    Bootneuter is only for the baseband bootloader. Pwnage is for the main bootloader.

    There are 2 bootloaders that pwnage use.

    The first bootloader is the one the "ipwner" button works on. This is the bootloader that allows custom firmware.

    The second is the baseband bootloader- this allows you to unlock with either bootloader 3.9 or 4.6 by removing the security checks they do to make sure the phone isn't unlocked! This is the bootloader BootNeuter works on.

    to answer my own question,
    yes it works. the pawned image can be restored on both pc and mac.
    but the iphone still has to be pawned on the mac first.

    Also, you lose your pwned status if you restore a normal image, so if you can't pwn again for a while, don't do that.
