Default [Bootneuter] Stuck on flashing - nearly an hour

I had a 1.1.4 iphone that was unlocked with iLiberty 1.51(mac), using 3.9fb to unlock and it was working.

Decided to give pwnagetool a go, and used 1.1(mac). After I pwned it, I restored it in itunes with my custom firmware, setting bootneuter to: 4.6/neuter/fb/unlock after it restarted

After it flashed the custom 1.1.4 pwned firmware, it loaded up bootneuter and turned of commcenter as its meant to. It also detected the current settings (3.9fb) and started flashing to the chosen settings.

However its been nearly an hour and its still in the flashing stage, "FLASHING BOOTLOADER - DO NOT INTERRUPT!!!". I know it takes some time, but I don't think its meant to take this long?

No response on the touchscreen or pressing either the home or power keys.

What should I do now? An way to recover/fix it?

If its non responsive all you can do is - restore it again. Put it in recovery mode either manually or see if iLiberty detects it and see if you can get it into recovery by using that.

I would suggest you restore using a new custom firmware again MAKE SURE YOU INCLUDE BSD SUBSYSTEM! as BootNeuter sometimes fails without BSD.

I don't know if it will damage your bootloader/baseband by restoring this way before its finished BUT it obviously went wrong and BootNeuter does let you flash them both so they should be able to correct any problems.

The two threads underneath had the same things happen to them - your iPhone may not work properly after this process so you may have to read them to see if you can fix it.

thanks spinstorm. It took alot of reflashing but i finally got it to work:

It was stuck on the flashing bootloader screen, so I had to reset it (hold power and hold for a few seconds until it turned off)

Reflashed with a stock 1.1.4 -> flashed but stuck in recovery mode when it reboot, indepedence and iliberty couldnt kick it out of recovery mode, itunes gave error 1011

Reflashed with stock 1.1.1 -> worked but itunes gave a 1015 error

Reflashed with 1.1.4 stock again -> got to the activation screen but itunes wouldnt activate it or let me flash it, said the phone needed to be sent into apple for repair

Used pwnagetool to pwn it first, then made a new custom IPSW with 4.6/neuter/unlock and BSD/Installer/SSH instlled

Forced it into recovery mode, flashed with new custom IPSW, all good now!

Bottom line: if you are gonna unlock/neuter make sure BSD subsystem is installed in your custom IPSW.

Glad it worked out for you though it sounds like you had a few momments of despair and dread and swearing at it!

The "repair" message is because the baseband is not there/corrupt so the custom restore again using BootNeuter fixed that by reflashing it...

For the record I am not sure if BSD subsystem is the cause of this problem - the original pwnagetool works without BSD.

I have saved my original custom firmware from the first version for initially pwning my phones as I know it works perfectly!

You can of course download the original pwnagetool (just don't update it!) complete with the bootloader files from the pirate bay - just do a search for pwnagetool.app .

With respect to BSD, I've used Pwnage 1.1 (Mac) on a couple of phones, didn't install BSD or SSH, only installer. Bootneuter worked fine. No problems. So I agree with Spinstorm, the Pwnage BSD install may not be the cause of these problems.
