    Yeah.... so erasing the baseband seems impossible (via software) in this state we are in...

    I attempted to downgrade my BootLoader via iLiberty but that just hangs forever.
    I am curious if the corrupt baseband has some factor why I cannot downgrade the
    Bootloader to 3.9. Or, If maybe my bootloader is corrupt as well. Anyone have an answer to this.

    Could the BootLoader be corrupt even though I can boot the iPhone?

    Where does the bootloader reside?
    I was thinking that replacing the Communications Board is my last resort... But I'm wondering if my BootLoader is corrupt as well, and if replacing the Board will still result in a brick.

    @dtube: Thanks for your responses.

    Hi I've been reading this topic for quite some time and decided to make a post. I've had the same issue with everyone else, bootneuter stuck at determining current settings. First of all I want to neuter my iPod Touch because I have the greyed wi-fi brought about by that darn Ziphone that I earlier used to jailbreak my iPod, and I want to fix it using the swifix. I'm on 1.1.4 firmware and I decided to downgrade it to 1.1.1 since I've read that it somehow fixes the problem. But I can't get to jailbreak it using iLiberty+ so how can I put bootneuter on it? And if ever I have done so, is there any guarantee that bootneuter would work? Sorry I'm not good at all these things and I'm kinda unfamiliar with those terms... I just want to fix this because I'm having troubles with my iTouch now. Since it had that greyed wifi thingy, my battery keeps on draining so fast that it won't even last for a day! I can't use my iTouch for Internet and now it seems to be unusable as an mp3 player too because it is always low on battery whenever I try to use it. I don't know what to do now... I hope this can be fixed soon... thanks for all the help. =)

    BootNeuter is ONLY for the iPhone.

    It will NOT work on the iPod as there is no bootloader like the one that the iPhone uses.

    I don't know how you messed up your iPod wi-fi - its a mystery maybe someone else can suggest something but BootNeuter will NOT work.
    iPhone US 8GB
    FW 1.0.2--> iUnlock--> iPhoneSIMfree--> 1.1.1 --> 1.1.2--> Soft upgrade 1.1.3 --> 1.1.4 using signal.app
    iPhone UK 16GB
    FW 1.1.3 OOB --> 1.1.4 --> iPlus 1.2 unlocked!

    <----If I helped you out, rep points are always nice (thanks for that idea!)

    Whaaat? Gee... Well I jailbreak my iPod touch using Ziphone 3.0... it was working just fine until it froze while I'm surfing the internet and then restarted. After that, I tried to use the internet but surprised to see my wi-fi greyed out... I searched for possible solutions and found this site about fixing broken wifi using swifi so I thought it would apply to iPod touch as well... so since bootneuter doesn't work on iPod, I think I'm totally screwed... guess I'll just have to wait for a fix then... Thanks for the reply though...

    really sorry to hear that man...
    That greyed out wifi + ziphone combo is really hurting a lot of people. I have absolutely no idea what/why caused it. The only common thing is people used ziphone.

    Bootneuter is made for iPhone 2G, first generation, so: No this wont work.
