[Bootneuter][Solved] flash failed (Error 5) on 1.1.4
I have pwned my iPhone to 1.1.4 successfully. However, I am unable to unlocked my iPhone. I kept getting the "The bootloader flash failed (Error 5)" when I tried to flash it in the Bootneuter app.
Any advice?
Thanks.

Same
I also got error 5 when attempting to unlock the iphone. I have not yet found a solution though. I am currently redoing the whole process. Let me know if you've got anything.

Found the cause! It was a mistake by me to upgrade to fw 2.0 beta.
To recover, do the following:
1. Restore your iphone to 1.1.4. You will get an error after that but it's ok.
2. Kick out of recovery mode using ziphone - reboot to normal.
3. Use the PwnageTool to Pwned your 1.1.4 fw and follow on-screen instruction.
4. Once the phone rebooted, do the ipsw builder.
5. Restore to the custom 1.1.4 using iTunes.
6. The Bootneuter will fail to flash the bootloader with error 5. It's ok.
7. Go to installer, refresh the source.
8. Add installer.iClarified.com to the source.
9. Go to the iClarified category and do a erase 1.2 bootloader.
10. Shutdown iPhone.
11. Starts iTunes and put your iPhone into recovery mode again.
12. Restore to the original 1.1.4 fw.
13. When restored completely, go to the emergency dialling and press *3001#12345#*
14. Ensure that you see the version is 4.04.xx
15. If #14 is ok, close iTunes.
16. Go to PwnageTool.
17. Pwn your iPhone again usng original 1.1.4fw.
18. When rebooted, do the ipsw builder to custom 1.1.4 again.
19. when down, restore your iPhone using iTunes to the custom 1.1.4 fw.
20. You should see that the bootneuter should flash and unlock your iphone.
To make it easier, try to use the iphone-dev custom images so that you know that your iPhone is still pwned.
Happy repairing!

You can start at step 7 if you already downgraded back to 1.1.4 pwned from 2.0 beta.
@jesterrace: It DOES work.
If you have a problem with the process and need help you have to tell us what you have done so far and to fix the problem in as much detail as possible.
We can't help you if all you says is "it does not work!"
iPhone US 8GB
FW 1.0.2--> iUnlock--> iPhoneSIMfree--> 1.1.1 --> 1.1.2--> Soft upgrade 1.1.3 --> 1.1.4 using signal.app
iPhone UK 16GB
FW 1.1.3 OOB --> 1.1.4 --> iPlus 1.2 unlocked!
<----If I helped you out, rep points are always nice (thanks for that idea!)

i've made all steps as you say:
14. Ensure that you see the version is 4.04.xx
but when i make step 13 my version is 4.05.xx what am i doing wrong?

I have followed all the steps, however when I get to the end of step #12 I receive the message "the iphone could not be restored. an unknown error occurred (1015).
The phone is a 16gig if that makes a differance, the model # is A1203.
I was able to get a look at the bootloader ver "3.9M3S2" and the baseband ver is "04.05.04G"
I have ignored the error and carried on with the instructions but continue to get the error (5) when trying to use bootneuter after the erase 1.2 bootloader.
Everything on the phone seems to work except the phone part (lol)
I hope someone can help me out.
Thanks
On an after thought, what apps should I be adding in with the custom .ipsw file?

Yes. Wait for Pwnagetool and new Bootneuter.
Don't use patched ziphone or whatever, as you risk too much.
