Default After Pwnage: Restore from Backup hangs

    Hi,

I just pwned my 2G iphone (2.1 pwnage tool, 2.1 firmware). After installing the firmware to the phone, iPhone offers to restore the backup that was made during the last sync (and older backups) or to set up a new phone. When accepting this offer, the itunes starts to restore with a progress bar, the iPhone shows the corresponding message, but it takes forever (10, 15 minutes), and after a certain time the process seems to be cancelled. The phone goes to its main screen (the previously installed apps are there, though). I am again offered the possibility to restore or set up a new phone.

Any ideas how to get my restore done? Can it be the restore was done, but iTunes does not see this? How can I circumvent the restore question then and normally synch the phone?

    Thanks

    R.

BTW: iTunes did not show me the latest backup when I tried to restore for the first time. So I did with an older one. Failed too. When the message to restore appeared the second time, the newest backup was visible out of a sudden. So I chose that one. No success.

Is there a way to delete all the old backups under iTunes? Looks like they're screwed up somehow. If you reinstall a phone as a new one and do a backup, the next time you want to restore, everything is screwed up again. So actually the backup function is broken.

I am not sure what you mean with this. It is generally safer to set up the phone as new, old data may be incompatible with newer firmwares. I would do the whole pwning process again, and then set up the phone as new. I never had any problems with pwnage using this procedure
