[2.0][pawnage 2.01] why upgrade FW from 1.1.4 to 2.0 on 2G

Good morning friends

Congratulations on all the successful Unlocked upgrades to FW 2.0 on 2G iPhones.

Now that you have had a taste of the FW 2.0, how do you like it.

my issues for not going to FW 2.0 are the loss of applications I loaded from Installer, and paid for.

I use a program called Search that can search all text in BOTH my address book and my calendar.

afaik with FW 2.0 you cant search your calendar at all..

And I understand that all Installer applications will be lost, as they dont work under FW 2.0

The other most important application I use in FW 1.1.4 is the Tmobile Tzones Hack.

Fortunately, this is already available for FW 2.0

So, tell me if you found your upgrade to FW 2.0 on a 2G iPhone wothwhile. What did you gain, what did you lose, how do you like it?

If I did not have an Iphone I could live just fine. But because I have one, messing with it is waaaaaaaaaay more fun than use it as a phone......... do we all need a cell phone anyhow ??!!
How can U have a 1.1.4 phone sitting in your pocket, when 2.0 is out !!!!
Sure , right now, all those free applications that you could get with the installer are gone. But, now that 2.0 has been jailbroken, wait a few more days and they will all be back.

I just did the upgrade this weekend, the only I am missing is a better camera program, themes and IM

Other then that.

I still cant get exchange working which almost made me switch back this morning. But I agree with what was said. This phone has satisifed my urges to mess with gadgets for over 6 months now.

And I am sure all the apps with come out through Cyndia soon

the only reason i wanted to update to 2.0 was because of the Microfost Exchange support.

I did that and i have my exchange account working completely fine on EDGE.

Totally agree. The curiosity killed my proverbial cat. Once 2.0 was available for all I couldn't help myself.

I miss PocketTouch the most, always used that, also other apps like Swap Library, Snapture, the GBA emulator, Instinctiv Shuffle, SyncStep to name a few!

But I'm hoping some of these will be available again soon, Looking forward to seeing installer back on my springboard.
