[1.1.4 -> 2.0] Can I just restore using the iThor firmware?
I am a legit AT&T user with a 1.1.2 OTB currently running 1.1.4 with 4.6 BB, jailbroken using iLiberty+. I only have access to a PC and I'm a little bit confused by the instructions in the stickied guide. Since I am already jailbroken and I don't need to worry about unlocking, can I just use iTunes to install the iThor 2.0 firmware? If so can I just do it directly or do I need to go into DFU mode? Do I need to bother with winpwn at all? My understanding is that I do in order to have iTunes install a non-Apple firmware. What about boot neuter? Do I need to do that since I'm a legit AT&T user? Thanks for the help.

In order to restore a custom firmware built with PwnageTool your phone needs to be pwned first.
This can be achieved under Windows using winpwn on a 1.1.4 iPhone.
You would then need to put the iPhone in restore (not DFU) mode and restore using iTunes (shift-click on restore, select custom .ipsw file).
The problem with BootNeuter would be whenever it was enabled to run automatically or not, I don't know what this iThor firmware is so you should check with whoever made it to be sure if BN is enabled or not.
In any case using BN even if you are a legit AT&T user should not make a difference, it is not necessary but it won't hurt.
I am not to sure how this iThor firmware was created, but your phone does not need to be pwned first to use a custom firmware. I did a restore on my friends iphone and it worked just fine.
While creating the firmware, they ask you if your phone has already been pwned. If you select no, then the first time the phone boots up after the restore it unlocked and jailbreaks the bootloader and then deletes the application that did it.
