It's been a year since my last log in.Wow... i have to do quite a catch up. I see some things have changed...Starting with myself.I'm now a proud Mac OS X user.

Yes, i do not like to post these newbish topics. Anyways, i'll just like to make sure a couple of things.

I remember back in the old days we used to virginize our phones in order to update to 1.1.1 .. if we didn't we would have a brick and blah blah. Do i still have to do this? or can i directly follow these instructions iClarified ?

No.. it's not my phone... i left the forums at the once stable 1.1.4.

Welcome back! No more need to virginize (only from 1.0.2 when used AnySIM 1.0.2). Your iPhone is at 1.1.1 so you are ready to use the iClarified tutorial.
Insert your private sim first and restore to Apple stock fw 2.2.1, then go ahead.
Once done (jb/activated/jailbroken) iTunes will offer to "recover data from a backup". Dont choose this one instead "setup as a new iPhone". Restore will bring back way outdated prefs to your iPhone and probably cause trouble.
