I just got a iPhone 3GS with OS 3.1 and a carrier lock. I realise there's not a jailbrake out yet, but will I actually be able to jailbrake when there is? I see people dicussing making a backup of the ECID, iBSS and iBEC prior to upgrading to 3.1, but I obviously never had that option.

I was hoping to jb and unlock this phone... sort of defeats the purpose otherwise Any ideas?

You'll have to wait, no solution so far.

they just released info on the new 3.1 3gs jailbreak.

they said it's untested for out of the box 3gs's.

yeah. the link for the new pwnage tool wont load for me. i've got 3.1 jailed on my 3gs right now (i had a sad brick day and couldn't get it back to 3.0 or 3.0.1 ) so i'm wanting to try any way to see if i can jailbreak

i'll post my findings as soon as i have any.

I have new Pwnagetool , i can send You..... but i have windows , can you upload your pwnage image you have created on megaupload after ?

I have no problem with suggesting where to download custom IPSW but no direct links guys because that can get us in trouble.

darn, i'm on mac. last time i tried to do jailbreak stuff in vmware i just got annoyed. once i get my image created i can upload it.
