    Hello
    I Need to activate Root on Mac os x in Single user Mode for the multi-user Mode.this is for a School project to Show how vaunerabel the Macs are.
    I have Managed to Set a Password but I have not been Abel to acess it in multi user mode thanks in advance for any help that I can get

    A simple Google search revealed the following article: Enabling and using the "root" user in Mac OS X

    Judging by the fact that the root account is disabled by default would indicate to me that the system is in fact somewhat secure.

    I don't understand what the real problem is. Just boot in single mode (apple+s), type "passwd" and enter a new password, reboot to multi user and chose other, type root as user and your password, and that's it. Btw, that's probably the "how vaunerabel the Macs are" you ment. I never tried this after an fresh install, but it should work. You can work around by giving a efi password, but that's not the securest way. To get the most of security for your files just install true crypt and create an encrypted container/partition and so on...
