I have bought a new iPhone 3G and tried to Jailbreak it using WinPwn 2.5 beta. After doing exactly what the program wants, it creates a new custom firmware for me, but when I'm trying to restore that with iTunes, iTunes will hangs after almost 70%(it doesn't really hangs, it just won't do anything, CUP came back to its idle state and any HDD activities will stop and if I put the cable out, iTunes will prompt me an error).
I tried to install the original firmware but the result is the same.
BTW I have downloaded and using 2.0.2 firmware but i don't know what was the firmware version when I bought the iPhone and also I have installed Turbo Sim.

What are you up to? If you just want to jailbreak it use Quickpwn. If you want to use Turbosim you're in the worn section here...

I want to activate and jailbreak my iPhone. But the problem is that now I even can't install the original firmware to begin to use another method of jailbeaking.

I had same case, I was using the 2.0.2 and while i was upgrading to 2.1 same errors took place and wasn't able to do a thing, the phone got blank. It was fixed by restoring it to its original firmware (2.0.2).

So dono if this might help, i guess u should restore to its current version and then upgrade.

I have tried both 2.1 and 2.0.2. Maybe I should download all versions and try all of them to see which one works.
