No success here. Seems that winpwn has many bugs to be worked out. I'm gonna hold off till the next release.
Counting down for iPhone 2012 =)

Has anyone tried the new 2.0.0.2?

I have succeeded in using winpwn for the iPhone 3G.
I backed up in iTunes. Then I used restore to update from 345 to 347 and let the restore happen. I copied the file that iTunes downloaded, and used winpwn on it. I followed the instructions here with 2 exceptions:
1. Did NOT select "YouTube Activation Fix"
2. Did NOT select "Activate Phone"
To enter DFU, I combined stuff from here and here. It took me two tries because the first time, I was following the first website only, and released the sleep button too early. It really is count 10 seconds, release sleep, count another 10 seconds. iTunes then asked me to check or cancel. At first I said cancel, then I had to restart iTunes and click check. Then shift-click restore and presto!
After restoring the custom ipsw, iTunes asked me if I wanted to restore the iPhone from my backup, I said yes, and now I have tested calling and updating Cydia over wifi.

I read somewhere that there's a way to put your phone into DFU mode via software, would that not be easier?

Finally got mine..And pwned it without any problems, within like 20 minutes or so of getting home..I really don't see where that error #6 or any of those other errors could come in place..I'm on Vista 64 bit..that's like the least compatible, compatible system.
