Default [3G][Winpwn] > activation after pwn?

Hi could someone help here - i have followed the guide for jailbreaking the 3g iphone, using the guide posted here..

However after doing the restore (with the pinapple on screen), i get promped by itunes to stick a valid sim in the iphone, i.e i'm unable to go through the activation process..

Any ideas, anyone - thanks, Mark

Pwning the phone allows you to install on it custom firmware.

You probably chose the official apple firmware to install on your phone, and not the custom one you created with the pwnage tool.

Since you have already pwned your phone, start itunes, choose restore by pressing shift at the same time, and find the custom firmware file you created.

If you do that, your phone will reboot activated.

    Default Process so far

Ok, to be clear, here is my current setup.

    - I have an AT&T unactivated phone (3G)
    - I downloaded the 2 files used for restore ,
    iPhone1,2_2.0_5A347_Custom _Restore.ipsw
x12220000_4_Recovery.ipsw which was placed in the device support folder in the "%appdata%\Apple Computer\iTunes" Folder.
    - I have used an O2 3g SIM
    - I Tunes message says, you sim is invalid or unactivated.
    - After placing the phone in the DFU mode (restore screen with no logo) i restored the custom firmware.
    - Phone was restarted (Hold and home button method)
    - Phone starts up with Pineapple on screen, but still is not jailbroken. Itunes still says SIM invalid or unactivated

Ok - Found out what the problem was :-

There is reference to restore these two files in attempt the restore :-

    1. You need to download two files:
x12220000_4_Recovery.ipsw and iPhone1,2_2.0_5A347_Custom_Restore.ipsw. You can get both of them over in this torrent:

My phones did not work with this custom restore file..

I used the one directly from APPLE, which the Ipwn 2.0.0.3 app recognised, managed to build the new customised file, then restored it.
