Not exactly. The dev team found a way to run custom ramdisks on the iPhone. At that time, Zibri was part of the dev team. The dev team was preparing an easy method for jailbreaking/unlocking with the ramdisk exploit, and Zibri was kicked out of the dev team because he wasn't that helpful and leaked information on his blog. Zibri then stole the ramdisk code, "finished" it up, though probably not as complete as the dev team would have made it, and changed all the credits to say that he made every part of it, giving no credit to the dev team that actually made practically the entire thing. Then he released it, and made lots of $$ off of it, even though he didn't make it. (This is my interpretation of the series of events - I may be wrong, and hopefully someone will correct me)
Speaking of which, I have an apology to make to the community. I used to talk to this Zibri person, and I made a GUI for his ZiPhone program on the Mac that gave him credit for the exploit. I was notified that he didn't make it, but I never updated my site. I clearly made a mistake, and I won't do it again. Furthermore, future versions of my software will give credit to those who deserve it, and will enhance iPlus instead of ZiPhone. I'm very sorry for any problems this has caused, or any misinformation I have spread.

Apology accepted, and welcome back. We all make mistakes and you have acknowledged your own.

To many he is the outcast of the dev team for stealing and leaking there techniques, to those who are uninformed he is respected for creating ziphone the first easy quick fix jailbreak unlock etc. As for little much eles who knows, right now it all depends on who you ask and at what time. His current whereabouts and motives are unknown except he might be releasing a new ziphone soon....
May i be corrected (in a respectful mannor) if i am wrong

Well, I assume you're all familiar with A.I. (that's Artificial Intelligence, not the Spielberg teddybear zoophilia material). It doesn't work so well. Luckily, mankind has been busy on another concept, A.S. (Artificial Stupidity).
Zibri is the first promising prototype of those new improved algorithms, the ASs (for A.S. Supreme). As refering it by its full model name (Zi Incredible Bullshits Riding Idiot) is a little bit cumbersome, using this acronym is better. Feel free to use it too. You'll notice it works quite well if powered by enough monies.
