First time poster, I'm not sure if this the the right place to be posting on this site or not.
I'm looking for some information. I am wanting to build my first hack and have an idea about the direction I want to go. I like small units and was wanting to build it around an mini-itx. From everything I've found online, these are used as HTPC. My idea is that I would use it as a home pc. I know I can build a larger unit but that's not what I want. I like the idea of having the option of carrying around, although a bit heavier and more cumbersome than a laptop, but it is still portable. I have found motherboards that can accommodated i3/i5/i7 chips which would provide the speed I'm looking for, up to 8gb of ram, and graphic card options are there.
I know that I can just purchase a mac mini but I don't want to hear that. I have wanted to build a computer for some time and have balked at building one because of the size. Enter mini-itx.
Why is this type of build so recluse online?
