Heya CowboOY. I'm new here but the question I suppose would be if "win 7 is better than OSX" which I'd respond, what do you prefer and what programs are you running and what's your budget?
I'm for OSX because I love Final Cut Studio and Production Premium CS5. But I like custom built systems because currently Apple doesn't satisfy my needs...

Depending on the exact specifications this model has a second hand value anywhere from $600 to $900 - that is based on the "Est. Current Retail:" price on following pages.

To the "Is Windows 7 better than mac" question, I'll chime in with my 2c.

I've run Windows 7 now since it was in beta prior to the tech previews and I have to say that it really is the most stable and robust Windows OS that MS has made in many years. It solves 99.95% of the main problems people had with Vista and is decidedly leaps and bounds above Windows XP.

That said, opinionating between Mac and Windows in general is somewhat difficult. You can basically do anything you want to on either of the OS's at this point, so you'll rarely find yourself running a Mac and wishing you had Windows, or vice versa. The only few key examples I can give you are that most Apple iPhone development and hacking tools are primarily written for the Mac, while most games (aside from Steam + Valve) are written for the PC.

It's been a long time since the Mac was the king at video and audio editing -- when they switched to X86 architecture they lost a lot of the performance benefit they had for those types of applications. At present, these types of applications really work equally well on each operating system -- the issue then becomes personal preference between the OS level management. If you don't mind Steve Jobs's overbearing inability to allow you to customize your OS at a nuts and bolts level, then Mac OS X is a great OS -- stable and reliable, easy to use, quick to pick up on. If you don't mind Microsoft's incessant patching, the higher need for malware and spyware protection, and the higher cost of licensing for Windows the OS as a whole, then Windows 7 is a great OS.

    Just my 2c!
