A friendly suggestion for DevTeam ond other developers
This is not related to Apple products, but may be on the same platform.
The story is about Canon DSLR phto cameras specially 5D Mark II & 7D and other similar Pro series DSLR from canon.
Why I'm think this will be interesting for Developers?
Canon are using DIGIC Processors for DSLR's (Digital Imaging Core) these are ARM architecture processors.
More about it can find here: DIGIC
cameras from Canon are based on the DRYOS operating system:
Real-time operating system
Out there are many Hackers who are developing firmware hacks for canon like CHDK: CHDK
And Magic Lantern: Magic Lantern
you ask why need someone else to put hands on this when there already are hacks and why on this forum? Hmm... More peoples involved more we can get out and more interesting features can get out from these great DSLR cameras. And on this forum because there are great peoples who are familiar with ARM architecture i think this can be a great turn. And other side of this is that no one can make before full control of these cameras, yes there is great hacks, but as i find and and play with my EOS cameras with hacks, there are missing features and let's say - need mere things and need polishing work to this field. Other thing is that Canon are hiding features that DSLR can do. For example Canon 5D Mark II cannot record in 50 & 60 fps it only has a 25, 24, 30fps i think it can be hackable to record up to 50 or 60 fps because for example other cameras from canon with DIGIC4 like canon 60D can be hackable to record with 720p 50 or 60 fps
This is only an example.
Other thing is Donating for Developers who want to dive in to this. I'm in - who want to support this idea?
Great will be if DevDeam like to de this and i personally Donate some money for test cameras like canon 5D Mark II and 7D
Thanks and sorry for English writing - if any.
