Unable to get Cydia w/ limera1n

I just jb my iphone4 running 4.1. no problems w/ initial jb, followed all instructions.

When I tap on the limera1n (white) icon it opens and where it says please select package(s). It tries to load for a few seconds and then gives me a message that says "please check your internet connection. (E.... "

I definitely have wifi access because I can get apps from the appstore and view webpages.

I am located in Beijing, China at the moment and I thought it may be a problem with the Great Firewall of China so my question is...

Can I get Cydia another way?

I have ways to circumvent the GFoC on my laptop PC running Win7 (freegate) but not on the Iphone4

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

- restart your phone

The only release I can get is RC1Beta2 from limera1n.com, tried it twice still same problem.

I have the same problem, living in China, I guess it must be the great firewall...
what worked for me was:
-go to wifi
-select the wifi network you use and edit
-http proxy set to manual

Use server 72.36.112.72
port: 3124

Now try limera1n again (it could be that you have to try it several times as the network is quit busy)

Same error but after jailbreak go to setings WiFi and find your conection tap on and add password if needed and go to cydiy

I need help....i have the same problem hbrwhammer....... iphone running 4.1 after updating from 4.0.2 without losing the original baseband 1.59.00, no problems with initial jaibreak....everything done as instructions.... limera1n icon appears as white and when i open it there´s no cydia and i get the message "please check your internet connection. (E.... "..... i am on wifi as well, can get acess to appstore and view webpages as well....but i cant figure this out....I am in Angola at Southern Africa... Help please because i think ive tried everything..........
