Limera1n not working (iPhone 4 - 4.1)

I have tried multiple times to jailbreak an iPhone 4 running 4.1.
The Limera1n application seems to skip right over entering into DFU mode steps and begins booting the phone as normal.

I have put the phone into DFU mode despite the prompts given by the application, after which point the process apparently continues, however there is no Limera1n application on the homescreen (as I have been reading online) and no Cydia installed.

I have tried rebooting as mentioned on the Limera1n website, again with no success.

I have also tried performing a restore and then re-performing the same process. Again, no success...

Same behavior on two iPhone 4s, an iPad 3G and an iPad Wifi.

I am running Windows 7 on a Macbook Pro under Bootcamp.

I am going to try testing using another computer as well as via VMware.

Guess that RC1 BETA2 is very beta...

same problem here. US iPhone4 4.1 firmware. Limera1n seems to finish all its processes and sais jailbreak allright. But no limera1n icon on homescreen.

on lenovo s10 netbook windows xp sp2

Update: It appears that a reboot between attempts resolves the DFU Mode Skipping issue, however there is still not an improvement in the situation.

iPhoneBrowser is also unable to browse outside of /var/mobile, implying that I am still within a chroot jail.

I've just finished writing up a guide of the whole process, and just waiting upon moderator approval, before it gets released into HowTo section in the Genius Bar bit of the forum. Perhaps that would help you :)

I have successfully jail-broke iPhone 4 4.02 on one of my iphone ... but unsuccessfully jail-break a similar iPhone running 4.1 ...

same problem as above mentions ... tried it multiple times, reboot multiple times and still doesn't work

You have to do it on a real machine, it wont work on VMWare ;)

windows 7 and ios 4.0.2 does not work for me . no icon on screen . process finished 6 times . please advise any update .

I had the same problem, tried also multiple times, eventually I turned the itunes in the background and it finally worked, hope that helped, please let me know if it did.

What do you mean by "I turned the itunes in the background"?
