    Question Realtek 8187B in iAtkos 10.6.3 S3 v2

    Realtek 818&B in iAtkos 10.6.3 S3 v2

    Hi,
I checked the compatibility list and the 8187B adapter (usb) I have is fully supported.
When the box boots the Realtek software just sits in the task bar bouncing and then fails.
Any advice? REALLY want to get wireless working in 10.6.3, will even consider buying more wireless cards - works fine in 10.5 but my sound doesnt (Intel HDA)

    Thanks

Just for info I managed to fix it

Wireless now works with the Realtek RTL8187B in iAtkos S3 10.6.3

    Method:

    Install 10.6.3

Boot into 32 bit mode (arch=i386 at the boot prompt)

Install 10.5 Realtek driver - get error about kext

Install the modifed kext (google RTL878Bl.kext.zip)

    Reboot.

It it runs a bit slow, set your router to manual channel number 11.

Enjoy - the hard work is done

I also have this wireless card, on snow leopard I used this driver. The software hangs on my system when there are lots of USB wires connected. When I unplug them all and boot it works perfectly. Rather strange :|
