No firewire, Voodoo Sound pref pane does nothing and cannot wake from sleep

Hi all,

Have SL 10.6.4 up and purring relatively nicely but have 3 kext issues..

1. Firewire... didn't install with iAtkos S2 V3 install and then when I tried to inctall the (recommended) cardbus kext on the 10,4,7 iAtkos install I got kp on every boot so needed to do a command line repair and rebuild from a seperate install to fix the issue having removed the offending kext

My Mobo is a DP43TF Intel board - what kext do I use to enable firewire and where do I get it?

SOLVED- A restart of iMovies and voila... (Gotta love Mac OS X if this was Windows you'd be in the registry and doindg repair installs of WIn 7 etc by now...)

2. I had a lot of sound issues and eventually managed to get sound up and running using Voodoo HDA... works nicely but the options in the Voodo pref pane and sound pane do absolutely nothing... is there a driver that will work and make these options available? Sound is also a bit hissy with this kext..

3. Cannot wake from sleep... Not neccessary really as I don't run a laptop and rarely put the machine to sleep but would be nice to fix..

Thanks everyone for all your replies and invaluable advice on how to go about resolving these issues, particularly Squidder for taking the time to comment at all.
I have taken all your advice so far... waded through the tons of suggestions and done precisely nothing...so therefore the issue is still unsolved. Like everyone else on this forum and every other forum for that matter I am a volunteer just like the rest of you...
I am sure someone has had these issues before and managed to resolve them through the help of others... so what's wrong with giving something back by sharing the knowledge?
