Default Loading all kexts from efi (or other) partition?

I'm pretty new to the game here, but I managed to get a machine working from top to bottom: sound, network, and video with QE/CI. About the only thing that didn't work was sleep, but this machine, for whatever reason, has sleep issues in Windows too. It likes to sleep and then never really wakes up.

I did the original retail install of Snow Leopard from my MacBook Pro onto the HD I'm using via USB and then booted the first time from the USB drive on the MBP. This ensured that it was an absolute pristine retail install.

With Chameleon and the latest PC-EFI loaded on a USB stick, I can boot from that retail drive and everything works but sound and networking because I have to install kexts to /System/Library/Extensions.

Is there anyway to put those kexts on the USB stick instead and get them to load from there? (VoodooHDA.) That way I could literally take any OS X SL install and boot it from my Hackintosh or put it back in a real Mac without having any weirdness from the Hackintosh installed.

    Default

EDIT: i think i may have misunderstood what you were asking, sorry. could you please clarify?

hey man yeah you can install them from the terminal...that is if you want to install them from your mac pro to the Hackintosh installation, if you want to install them from the hackintosh installation then you can just use kexthelper or osx86tools or you could still do it from the terminal....

    open terminal

    su -(enter password)

    cd /Volumes/***your_install_location***/System/Library/Extensions

ls (just to make sure your in the right location, shows whats in there)

cd (go back to root directory)

cp -r /**location_of_your_kext/ /Volumes/**your_install_location**/System/Library/Extensions/ (note: there is a SPACE between the first location and the second location)

    Now change permissions

    chmod -R 755 /Volumes/**your_install_location**/System/Library/Extensions/**the_name_of_your_file.kext**

    chown -R root:wheel /Volumes/**your_install_location**/System/Library/Extensions/**the_name_of_your_file.kext**

clear extensions cache and rebuild permissions

    rm -rf /Volumes/**your_install_location**/System/Library/Extensions/Extensions.mkext

    kextcache -k /Volumes/**your_install_location**/System/Library/Extensions

and youre done! they will be installed on your next boot...

if you want to uninstall them then

    cd /Volumes/**your_install_location**/

    fsck -y

    mount -uw /

    su - (enter password)

    rm -rf /Volumes/**install_location**/System/Library/Extensions/**name_of_file.kext***
