Kexts not working for Acer Aspire 5630
Hello Guys,
I've installed Mac OS X Snow Leopard on my acer aspire 5630, by following this
Lifehacker, tips and downloads for getting things done
Now the problem is, no cards are identified, i.e. ethernet and wireless cards are not seen hence I have no internet on my hackintosh.
I tried getting kexts from the following link (step seven)
Lifehacker, tips and downloads for getting things done
but when installing I get kernel panics, I also tried random kexts to get my laptop keyboard to work, but I still got kernel panics
Kernel panics mean I get a grey screen in mac which instructs me to power off my computer and try to restart, but ofcourse when I restart mac won't boot and will give me the same error again
Please help and ask if you need me to clarify anything, I need kexts for my ethernet and wireless cards, which won't cause kernel panics, therefore please don't recommend me to install this kext R1000SL.kext cause it causes kernel panics.
my ethernet card is : Broadcom 440x 10/100 Integrated Controller
my wireless card is : Intel(R) PRO/Wireless 3945ABG Network Connection
All I need is kexts for my network cards and how to install them. Please help me.

Hi, I have an Aspire 5630 and tried various ways to get Snow leopard working all had some problem or other with booting or similar probs from a vanilla install.
So my advice is Google Protocol-X Snow leopard 8GB USB install.
Follow the detailed instructions to install OSX and use Chameleon to boot the OS of your choice.
I now have Win7 and OSX 10.6.6 [started off as 10.6.2 but updates always worked fine] running on my 5630 running Aperture 3 and Office 2011 as well as other things. Angry birds is simple but very addictive.
To make it even more interesting I installed Fusion and have an virtual XP machine running in OSX.
3 things to note though:
1. The Broadcom 440x ethernet controller is intermittent at best [just doesnt work most of the time] regardless of which kext's I've tried.
2. Change the 3945ABG for a Broadcom 94311 or 94312 or similar wifi card, mine was £12 off ebay. The 3945ABG just will not work.
3. The Legacy Kernel seems to work best, Mach Kernel seems to Kernel panic.
Hope this helps.
