Default Full Support of Graphics Card....

    Hi there,

running my hackintosh now almost a year.. without issues... Only thing is that I think my Graphics Card (Geforce 7600 GT) is not supported to 100%.

Lets say I installed Geforce kext drivers... and 3d is working... just everythung is really slow... and I cann not play video with a resolution larger than 720 pixels wide. Adobe Premiere is crashing after a couple of minutes...

But the TimeMashine 3D interface of OSX works...

How Can I find out, if the card is proper installed?

    THANK YOU

    Hi there,

Lets say your question is about to check links of a long chain.

And yes, you can find out. First step, check under Graphics/Display.

    Cheers,

I thought somebody was maybe that clever to write a piece of software that compares the hardware device id with the drivers one..

Is there anything like that out there?

However.. checked my system infos and its seemes pretty fine:

    NVIDIA Graphics Engine:

    Chipset Model: NVIDIA Graphics Engine
    Type: GPU
    Bus: PCIe
    Slot: PCI
    PCIe Lane Width: x16
    VRAM (Total): 512 MB
    Vendor: NVIDIA (0x10de)
    Device ID: 0x0391
    Revision ID: 0x00a1
ROM Revision: NVIDIA Graphics Engine DSDT
    Displays:

like you see... the Device ID seems to match my card: Geforce 7600GT, 256MB, PCIe, 0x0391
still the performance is weaker than it should be

    thanks

What are the next few more lines say, my friend.

What about QE/CI? Those are of more concerned.

    Cheers,

And also you can use benchmark program like Xbench to check your video card performance and to compare with known good one.

    Cheers,

    This is the total output:

    NVIDIA Graphics Engine:

    Chipset Model: NVIDIA Graphics Engine
    Type: GPU
    Bus: PCIe
    Slot: PCI
    PCIe Lane Width: x16
    VRAM (Total): 512 MB
    Vendor: NVIDIA (0x10de)
    Device ID: 0x0391
    Revision ID: 0x00a1
ROM Revision: NVIDIA Graphics Engine DSDT
    Displays:
    Acer AL1916W:
    Resolution: 1440 x 900 @ 60 Hz
    Pixel Depth: 32-Bit Color (ARGB8888)
    Mirror: Off
    Online: Yes
    Rotation: Supported
    BenQ FP222Wa:
    Resolution: 1680 x 1050 @ 60 Hz
    Pixel Depth: 32-Bit Color (ARGB8888)
    Main Display: Yes
    Mirror: Off
    Online: Yes
    Rotation: Supported

How can I test to see if QE/CI is working?
I thought that would also be covered by the display/graphics tab...

    Thank you guys...
    really appreciate your help here..
