Hi guys I Recently took forever to get my 8400gs 1gb working and couldn't believe my eyes when it eventually did by simply adding device ID's and Vendor ID's to the kexts this will only work with the Device ID: 0x10c3 check in system profiler> graphics...... I used GraphicsEnabler=Yes on chameleon RC5 and it worked a treat!!!
IT WILL ONLY WORK ON THE ABOVE MODEL!

All you have to do is install them is back up the same files in your extensions folder then delete the same files as in the download then install the kexts provided in the zip with kext helper b7 and then run kext utility to repair permissions both are included in the link then restart and go into system prefs and change your resolutions!!! this worked perfectly for me on iatkos s3

Hey Drdad!
Unfortunately I dont think it would work due to the Hardware ID's being different for the 1GB model as mine are

Vendor: NVIDIA (0x10de)
Device ID: 0x10c3

I've tried this method but it doesn't help my situation.

I am running Leopard on my Gigabyte G31M-ES2L, with GeForce 8400GS 1GB on it.
My trial include,

1. install all those four files
2. Modify NVDANV40 to include 10c3 --> install 4 files
3. Modify NVDResman to include 10c3 --->install 4 files
4. Modify NVEnabler to include 10c3 ---> install 4 files

Graphic enabler is always "Yes". I got 1280x1024x32 with "Graphic Mode" method. But still NO QE/CI.
Any further suggestion? Do I missed something her?

hi there sorry for the such late reply!!

At first it didnt work for me because there were conflicting graphics kexts like geforce ones and i deleted ALL graphics related kexts and installed these files but be warned its risky if you get it wrong as it may cause system crashes after rebooting. sorry i couldnt have been of more assistance its been so long i cant remember what i done to crack it!

I'm stuck in the same boat right now as well. I've got these kexts installed and I've got the resolution working. But no QE.

Hi Anthony I Can Install Logic Because It Says I Have (0 VRAM) I Am On 10.7.8 the Kext Worked OK
