oookkk....nevermind... i got it now. here is the report from everest. i noticed on the report on one section it said audio disabled...hmmm???? anywho here's the report:http://www.fileden.com/files/2007/4/...198/Report.txt

i also noticed that my video/display is running at 1024x768 using the intel GMA 950 when i was customizing since it was the closest to my video card i think but i know it runs at 1024x800 in vista... oh and my camera doesn't work. photo booth says the video card is not supported for photo booth. but yet it worked when i was setting up a new account... strange...

but thanks again for being patient with me. i know i have alot to learn so thats why i spend most of my day/night reading the forums/googling/tinkering with my notebook so i can learn... but i must say at times its a P.I.T.A. but in a good way. i'm enjoying my time messing with this... :-)

one more thing...LAN doesn't work but i heard that its in the works...so..............i also noticed on the report that it said at the near end that audio and modem are together...?????

hmm this is a beta version your not getting the chipsets, you need the full version, if you have GMA 950, google abit to get Full Support QE/CI.

Cant help your Audio or LAN until you get the right info, can be ALC888 or ALC268, or even another one.. so get the right info, so we can help you to get all your system working.

well...after some extensive searching i finally found a driver/kext that worked. here is the link that helped me:

    ideneb 10.5.5 intel HD audio - Conexant Cx20561 @ Intel 82801IB ICH9 - InsanelyMac Forum

not sure if this is the right kext for my sound card but at least it worked... :-)

only thing i have to do everytime i shutdown then restart to get audio working is i have to plug in my headphones first and then pull them out and the speakers begin to work... strange????

anywho... thanks to everyone who helped this poor n00b out of trouble... now i need to find out how to fix LAN...lol

hmm are you getting a speaker on top menu? maybe your not using the right output, check this: go to system preferences, then audio, check the output tab ;P

well... i figured out the sound issue now... i should have read further down the post as it had a couple more modified kext files i didn't see so that issue is now resolved. now i just need to fix LAN but in the meantime i bought the apple USB ethernet adapter so i have to see how to get that going because its not working at this time. it says that its only compatible for the macbook air so maybe there is a patch to get this adapter working... but thanks anyways for all your help...
