"Still waiting for root device" after installation?
I got it during installation at the start but I just typed rd=disk1s2 and it used my dvd drive as the root device (I got some cant write to device error but that was it). Then during installation I was able to format my drive fine, and the drive during installation was recognized. When I boot I get the still waiting for root device error. I have tried -x -f rd=disk0s1 rd=disk1s2 and none of it worked. This happens with Kalway and iDeneb.
My computer specifications: laptop Gateway MX6445
Processor: AMD Turion™ 64 Mobile Technology ML-34
Chipset: ATI Radeon® Xpress 200M Chipset (RS482M)
Memory: 1024 MB DDR 333 MHz (2 × 512) PC2700
Hard Drive: 80GB IDE laptop harddrive
Thank you for any help

chipset
disconnect all drives except the one ur installing on. make sure you install the chipset driver for your mobo. 9 times out of 10 this cures your problem. install kalyway (better then ideneb imho) or evern better, iPC XL DL is best distro to date. need an amd compatable bootloader and kernal.
Ive used alot, ive built 4 hackintoshes since tiger. iPC is the one.
