Sound not working correctly, new install
Hi everyone.
First a big thanks to everyone helping out in this community. MacOS on a PC - what an awesome project!
I found the osx86project wiki that had my mobo listed (ASUS M4A78-EM) and a working installation configuration for iDeneb 1.6 so I went with that. Everything worked straightaway except I noticed the sound was pretty staticy during the "Welcome" movie. It seems there is a little static always when playing stuff from iTunes, but it randomly gets worse for a few seconds and then clears up again just as randomly.
I can probably live with the static since I don't really use this machine to listen to music much, but the bigger issue is when I go into the Sound control panel, I get a kernel panic. Below is a pic I took of the output.
I have the Realtek ALC887 chipset on this board. I found some info about doing something with "kext" which seems to be drivers, but I don't have any idea what to do or if this is even what I should be doing.
Any help is greatly appreciated!
EDIT: here is the configuration I used to install iDeneb:
Installed from iDeneb v1.6 Lite (Leopard 10.5.8)
Bootloader: Chameleon v2
Kernel: 9.5.0 Kernel Voodoo
Apple Decrypt
Apple SMBIOS Patched: Apple SMBIOS 800Mhz

PS/2: VoodooPS2Controller
AboutThisMac Fix
SystemProfiler Fix
Fix: Seatbealt Fix
Audio: VoodooHDA
Chipset: AHCI SATA/IDE & AppleATIATA
Network: Ethernet/Realtek/ Select: RTL8169/RTL81111
Video: NVinject 0.2.1/ Select: NVinject 1024MB (I have an Nvidia 9500 GT 1gb)
Cleanup
