Snow Leopard 10.6.2 and Nvidia Geforce 330m
Sorry, moving this post to Snow Leopard forum. didn't see it earlier.
Hi,
I'm running Snow Leopard 10.6.2 (edit it's 10.6.3 now after updating) in VMware Workstation 7.0.0 build-203739 on Windows 7. I have a Sony Vaio F115FM that has a Nvidia Geforce 330m 1gb graphics card. The new macbook pros have this card w/ 512mb.
I'm trying to get imovie to work for a school project but get the error message
"Quartz Extreme Required. iMovie requires a graphics card that is compatible with Quartz Extreme. One or more of your graphics cards does not support Quartz Extreme."
I've tried to install NVinject using Kext Helper b7 which says it installed correctly but haven't had luck. Also tried NVinjectGo.0.2.0_512Mb_installer. Still get the error. Maybe I'm doing something wrong? I have 32bit color depth and can change resolution up to 2364x1773. I've tried changing the resolution to different values, but doesnt help.
The following is listed in "Graphics/Displays" even after installing NVinject.
Display:
Type: GPU
Bus: PCI
VRAM (Total): 128 MB
Device ID: 0x0405
Revision ID: 0x0000
Displays:
Display:
Resolution: 1400 x 900
Pixel Depth: 32-Bit Color (ARGB8888)
Main Display: Yes
Mirror: Off
Online: Yes
Vendor ID: 0x15ad
Everything else works: Nic, sound, vmware tools, itunes, iphoto, idvd.
I even updated 10.6.2, and imovie from apple.
Any suggestions? or is this even possible? Thanks
