Unhappy Quartz Extreme for ATI Radeon

I downloaded some ATI Radeon drivers for Mac OS and installed
them but I can't get QE support on my OSX86 system.

After installing one version of drivers I had to boot my system with
-x option to be able to get picture....

After that everything was where it started....QE not supported...

Is there a way to edit some file on my OSX86 to enable the QE...

Since I can get to choose resolutions in my preferences and all
movies (divx, xvid, mov, mp4...) play normally in QuickTime even
with subtitles...I can't understand that enabling QE is such a big

I've read that many people have ATI radeon 3870 in their Macs
    and everything works out fine....

    I have iPC OSX86....upgraded to 10.5.7.....ATI Radeon HD 3870
with 512 MB of DDR4....PCI-E version....

Is there a way to enable DVD player in OSX86 since I can't get it
to work for me.....I have a LG SATA DVD-RW drive....

    Default Distro issue possibly

I had IPC 10.5.6 upgraded to 10.5.7 - it did not recognize my DVD - an Optiarc 7650 and had keyboard issues. I installed iDeneb 10.5.6 and it did not recognize the DVD and then I upgraded it to 10.5.7 - and now the DVD is there, recognized and fine.

I answered one of your other posts with my standard speel - so . . . you go figure. It is a hardware support thing an how thoroughly the distro is built.

Now you can look for a manual way to do it - or unless you have files you want to save - try iDeneb and uprade it to 10.5.7 - it uses a .dmg upgrade method

I can confirm same problem.. There is supposedly a fix for 10.5.7 to use new kext without natit injector but it doesn't work for me either..

    I notice ATY_init: Quitting for card 9fc3
    when booting with -v though..
