Acer aspire 7540-1284 audio driver help!!! please

I have everything working but the audio driver. I know its realtek audio. I picked that when installing and I still don't have sound. I have no idea how to find the chip set. This is the first time I was able to get this working. I tried before with no luck and gave up. Then I saw there was a newer one to download then I tried before and I am using it right now. I just wish I could get the sound working.

also my mouse pointer is messed up. It looks like a bunch of lines and when installing it looks just fine but after i reboot it doesn't look right.

yes, google voodoohda.pkg, tham you just need to install the pkg, and restart pc

ok it's installed and still no sound. I did it the long way i couldnt find how to do it the other way.

I still dont know how to install a kext file

you can use the program kext helper or kext utility, both of them are supposed to work for your.

Thank you. I will have to boot this back up into the mac partition. right now i am using windows 7 again. was watching some things on youtube and they are boring without sound.

I still don't have sound. everything I have tried doesn't work. the file you told me to use doesn't work and if i click on the input then my system locks up and tells me to hold in the power button to restart.


also my mouse pointer is still messed up its in the shape of a box and i see all kinds of colors here and there.

can you tell me what is your sound codec, like alc662
