Exclamation nVidia GeForce 9600 512MB problems...

    Hi,
After years (about 4-5 ) of suffering from windows, I've recently (about 3 months ago ) moved to hackintosh .
I'm running OSX 10.5.8 on Intel processor. When I just installed it, I had all of the usual problem of the GeForce 9600. So I installed nvinject using kext helper, and now everything is working perfectly except for few annoying things:
    - When I enter full screen mode (in YouTube and MegaVideo etc.), I see the movie abrupt. I thought it was the refreshing rate of the os but it says its working on 60MHz, so I have no clue...
    - I can't see the screen saver, and when I'm getting out of the screen saver mode, I see something like Gaussian noise in Photoshop for few seconds
    - I can't see cover-flow on iTunes (although in the finder it works great), and even after downgrading iTunes and reinstalling it, it doesn't work.
    - V.L.C player doesn't show any video, nor even out of full screen mode (and I don't think the player is the problem), although it does playing the soundtrack.

I'm not much of an expert in mac (although I have more then just a basic knowledge ) so I don't want to start changing the kexts with the terminal.
Does anyone have a simple solution to this repeating problem?

    Thanks,
    Yuval.

I have NVIDIA GeForce 9600 GS Graphic Card on a HP Pavilion Desktop and I used to have similar issues until I used "cudadriver 2.3.1a macos.pkg" for NVIDIA Graphics Card.

    Hi,
I found a post in one of nVidia's forums that has downloads in it.
I downloaded the 2.3.0a because I'm working on 10.5.8, and there's still the full screen problem, although I was able to watch the conference, by streaming it from 's site.
Should I try downloading the 3.2.1a version?
Do you have any other solution?
Will it help if I'll upgrade to snow leopard, even though it has so much criticisms?

    Thanks,
    Yuval.

My system is running on Snow Leopard OS and Windows 7 and even when I switch from one OS to the other The Graphic Card works smoothly. Like I had said it before My The Graphic Card improved after I installed the kext. But that's my experience..If you know what I mean...even The HDMI output works as well.

As you well know, every system is different. The hardware of My HP Pavilion desktop wasn't full compatible, so I did some changes. For instance The sound Card wasn't working and after I tried my different kexts and decide to replace it for a compatible one. In the other hand I have a Toshiba Satellite L305 and everything works right out of the box. (except The wireless but I have ethernet connection)

Snow Leopard OS is working fine and smooth for me since I installed in my system

It might help if you upgrade to Snow leopard OS. what is the specs of your system?

    My specs are:

    Intel Core2Due E-7500
    Gigabyte G41M-ES2L
    Gigabyte nVidia GeForce 9600GSO 512MB
2GB of RAM (I don't remember what company)
    On-Board sound card
    Gigabyte Ethernet card

By the way, I have a boot camp problem. Every time I lunch it, it says:
"Boot Camp Assistant cannot be used.
You must upgrade you computer's Boot ROM firmware before using the setup assistant".

Will upgrading to Snow Leopard fix this?

    Thanks ,
    Yuval.

Boot Camp is for Apple hardware only. Your PC already has the ability to run Windows natively

So should I just pick a partition and install it?
And then, would I have to change the booting place every time? Or I would be able to choose the partition in the startup options of mac (The thing with the green chameleon)?

    And now to another thing:
Can I install Snow Leopard without a DVD +Rdl disc? Or do I have to get one? Because I'm not sure there is a place how sells it near me (I live in Israel ).

    Thanks ,
    Yuval

You would better off buying The Retail OS. There's a lot of web site that you can download a modify SL OS but at the same time it will consume a lot of time, not only downloading 5 gig of data but becuase is been modify it might not be compatible with your system...In the end is up to you but If I was you I'll go in the less complicated way.
I have a dual boot system running Snow Leopard OS and Windows 7 Ultimate. I Use Rebel EFI as Bootlaoder, which make the installation so much easy. I installed Snow Leopard OS first, so in the setting I made to partitions. the first one Format: Mac OS Extended (Journaled) and the second one Format: DOS Fat. after that was done I installed Snow Leopard and after that Windows 7..It was like "Walk in the Park"..!

I saw you great guide you posted somewhen and I've already downloaded the EIF and installed it (It will be erased when I'll install the Snow Leopard, won't it... ).
The problem is that in Israel, our only representer is called iDigital and it has much higher prices (it casts 40$ in here), so maybe I'll ask my cousin to mail it to me.

    Thanks,
    Yuval.

P.S: Is there a chance that the installation disc won't work?
