Nvidia Geforce 8500GT (DVI & VGA)
I've got two monitors, one connected to the VGA output and the other to the DVI. By default, the VGA output is used as the primary output if both outputs are connected which means when I am booting and installing, the VGA monitor is the only one used. Upon first boot, if I keep both of the screens plugged in, I am faced with an empty desktop and the mouse cursor, but if I unplug the DVI and reboot, I can see all on the VGA display.
Has anyone come across a method of configuring it so that either extended desktop can be used or just the DVI monitor is used / has anyone got a generic method for setting up extended desktops on osx86?
I've been reading all kinds of different forum threads and tried all kinds of different packages, with no avail (NVInject, natit, NVInstaller) - I'm a first time osx86'er!
Processor - AMD Athlon X2 4200+
Motherboard - Asus M2N-Sli Deluxe
Memory - 4GB
2x SATA Hard Disks @ 1TB
XFX Nvidia Geforce 8500GT
OSX86 Distribution - iATKOS 10.5.4

Hi all I figured instead of starting a new thread I would just resurrect this guys question as I am facing the same exact issue with my ASUS 8500gt 256mb card. Ive tried every driver and kext combo i could think of to no avail. If is use nvinjector I do get dual screen with DVI working but its got artifacts all over the screen, and no QE. Any suggestions?
I'm having similar issues with my 1GB version of an nvidia version of the card. I can't get the card recognized correctly by the system and no QE and that is preventing me from installing Final Cut.

Hi icchansan, I was able to download and install efi studio. I also selected my video card which is NVidia GEForce 8500GT 512MB from choices, then I restarted my machine.. unfortunately it's not working still. I tried connecting both screen (1-DVI, and 1-VGA), the VGA lost the display while the screen with DVI show some background but cannot load the icons, I could only see my mouse cursor but it won't load the entire desktop.
I restarted again using single screen which is VGA then I check the system profiler, I could see my Video Card installed properly, but why is it that it won't work with the DVI output.
I'm using Kalway 10.5.2 OSX86. Thank you so much for your help, I hope you could send me some reply.
