SOLVED: Laptop backlight flicker intermittent
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
so i have used about every kext i can find trying to get a fix for my Laptops backlight flicker problem. I am unsure if it is video drivers or Frame Buffer drivers, or Monitor Drivers but i cant seem to get a fix for it...
heres the dirty:
Video card Device ID 2a02 Rev 0c
i am now using iATKOS V7 with the X3100 p driver
laptop i am using is a Vaio VGN-NR385E
I have full acceleration on it, correct resolution via switchresx of 1280x800, Untested video out and the Brightness controls dont work
the backlight just keeps flickering in brightness and ive tried several drivers and they all do the same thing.
The Backlight works fine in VESA mode.
the problem is just like the flickering plauge that macs had
anyone have any input?
ive been searching like mad and others have mentioned the issue but nobodys posted a fix
things ive noticed... it comes in and out like a timing issue starting out with slight flikering and becoming more and more intense
letting the display sleep for a second stops the cycle but not allways.

Solved
Ran system update and updated to 10.5.8 no kext reloading needed
caused other issues with this machine though
about this mac not working
slow wifi (using dw1395) resolved by downgrading appleairport.kext and
IO80211family.kext to 10.5.6 kext's
