What is your installation method? Version of OSX?
I used iPC 10.5.6 with cameleon/Darwin.

I can enter root using single user. Since I installed applejack, I can repair the disk. Can you use applejack or do you have to do something else. If so, could you tell me what I need to type in! Thanks

In -s, use Terminal command to repair permission. You can try some here, if not then search for more commands.

sudo -s

cd /System/Library/Extensions

chown -R root:wheel *

chmod -R 755 *

Try it to see. And sorry for the question about your OSX version as I need to run shortly and overlooked. You posted already.

Default Still no progress

That didn't help. But the terminal commands worked, someone else will appreciate that.

Alright. Since it's still having problem.
Most of the time, if you made it through installation successfully then most likely OSx should run IF the selections are done correctly.

So, why don't you try it fresh. Redo the installation and clear the volume/partition first prior to customization (check this carefully).

Keep your selection at minimal: no video, no audio, no network, no app..
Don't forget your ATA driver. Don't use vanilla kernel as the CPU won't take it well. Try Voodoo or Legacy.

Use boot options, at least -x -v (and others if need per my post earlier).

Default A clean start

I just reinstalled iPC 10.5.6 with these choices...
--------------------------------
"Voodoo 9.5.0 Kernel"

"Seatbelt"

"LegacyappleintelPIIXATA"

"PS/2 Keyboard"
--------------------------------
And now it hangs at

"NTFS driver 2.1 [Flags: R/O]."

BTW, I am dualbooting with win XP on the same HD.

Thanks

Have you selected OSX patches and fixes?
If that is all you got then it may not be enough.
There is a tutorial in leopard section, iDeneb 1.4, you could review to see.
IPC should be the choice for your system, and all distro installation would be similar as for patches/fixes.

I like links. Otherwise I don't know which one.

Whichever works for you as it only serves as a guide line for your installation, or you could review both.

When I have more time I will look at your log, but for now, here is what you could try.

The selections look ok and you should:

1. Video yes (unselect if there is problem)
2. Chipsets ok, (but may need jMicron: later)
3. Need shutdown/restart, remove appleintelpowermanagement
4. No alternate bootloader
5. No application, just skip the whole section.
