Default iDeneb v1.6 Lite - Sata kext?

    Hi all,

I've just installed iDeneb v1.6 10.5.8 ... I did have to use a IDE dvd-rom and IDE HDD to install it though.

Is there any kexts I can use so I could copy this install over onto my main SATA HDD / And to view my SATA HDD's / Use my SATA DVD-Rom?

    Thanks in advance =]

    Hi,
    Congrats. You made it.
You can image you partition and restore it to your other drive. On the SATA issues, I think it got to do with you chipsets kexts. That is a VIA one? May have to do some searching to enable it.

    Hi,

    Thanks for replying.

Yeah it's the VIA chipset, I'd installed the kexts upon install for that (looked exacly same as the iPC ones) however won't come up

    Hi,
So now would you able to view your SATA drives when you're in Leopard?
    Hard drives and DVD?
I will do some research to see what I can come up with.

    This is what I did...

While on the iPC install I copied the entire extension folder over onto the iDeneb install and it allowed me to see my Sata hdd's.

I then restored the iDeneb onto my sata and it's all fine now.

My only issue is that I'd like my PCI VT6421 card to maybe get working so I can access my other 4 SATA hdd's that I have storage on (if possible to do that)

    Hi,
    Good work!
Also you can go to kexts.com to check out for that chipsets. There are superVIA, VIA, AppleATA kexts that you can DLoad and/or compare with your system kexts. They may have newer versions which support your hardware.
The other thing you can do is use DSDT to compliment your ACPI hardware.
Also since you have Leopard running, there is a fast way to install SL retail DVD using your Leopard as an installing/modifying medium.
    Regards,
