    Default IDE support Intel P45

    Hey guys.

I've been running 10.5.6 on my gigabyte board now for quite some time now without many issues. I've ran into a little roadblock now, since I need to start burning disks, and my IDE disk drive isn't recognized.

In my initial install I included a kext for the IDE support but it didn't work. Does anyone know what kext I need to get my IDE working?

    This is my mobo:
    Newegg.com - GIGABYTE GA-EP45-UD3P LGA 775 Intel P45 ATX Intel Motherboard - Intel Motherboards

Maybe its a bios setting? I never did any tweaks to the bios, the fresh iPC 10.5.6 install worked fine on the stock settings.

I'm also getting a weird error: Whenever I turn on the comp, I will get the "Still waiting for root Device" error, and after rebooting a few times it will finally start up. It usually takes about 3-5 times of getting this message before it actually boots up. Anyone know any fixes for this??

    Thanks

The specs for that mobo is here:
    GIGABYTE - Product - Motherboard - Specification - GA-EP45-UD3P (rev. 1.0)

Eventhough it's not clear what kind of controller is for the IDE (GIGABYTE SATA2 chip) but I am suspecting it is a jmicron controller.

You said your IDE disk drive isn't recognized ... are you referring to cd/dvd burner ? or hard drive ?
