Default ga 965p ds3 networking problem

I've installed and reinstalled, well i've lost count. I got the sound working finally but i CANNOT get networking to work. I've seen posts saying the network should work fine without installing anything. I have a connection in networking but it says not connected. I've tried a couple fixes i've seen but nothing is working. Any tips on how to get networking to work? It's my last hurdle and i'm running.

Asks more completely. What networking you can't get to work - wireless or ethernet?
If wireless, what is your wi-fi card? If ethernet, what is your ethernet card?
