Hi

I've spent almost every hour of the last 2 days trying to get Ideneb 10.5.7 working on my PC. at first it wouldnt even install but I managed to fix that by removing the extra 512 ram that was along side the other 3Gb. I thought then that I was home and dry but it was after install that the real frustration started

can anyone can give me some pointers on what Kernels,patches and fixes to use? here is my setup

Abit KN8 SLI MoBo (Latest Bios)
NVIDIA nForce4 SLI Chipset
Realtec ALC850 Sound
Gigabit Ethernet

Socket 939 AMD 64 2 x 4800 +

3 Gb Kingston PC3200 400 MHz DDR

Hitachi ATA/IDE 164 Gb HDD

Nvidia Geforce 6800 GT

IDE DVD Rom Drive

Ok, all fixed so to anyone with the same MoBo wanting to install Ideneb 10.5.7 here's the settings i use..........

Kernel=Voodoo
Seatbelt Fix
PS2 Old Fix Mouse & Keyboard
NForce Ata Chipset
Nvidia Inject 256
ALC 850 Audio

I was unable to get the onboard ethernet working so used a 3Com pci card i had kicking around and selected all of the broadcom drivers which seem to work fine

Geforce 6800 GTO 256 would only run core image in software mode, I tried for days to fix this using EFI strings and entering Device ID directly into the Kext Plists's but nothing worked so gave up and used Geforce 7900 GTO 256 that i have which i was avoiding as it has overheating issues

I'm still yet to get the firewire working (defaults to full secure mode) but am going to work on that now and once i have success ill post how to fix it

For the record....all of the AMD Kernels work with my set up but the Voodoo Kernel seems to be the most stable

Any probs with same setup gimme a shout and ill try and help you,Specs are in my orginal post.

OK.....after much pissing around the solution the the firewire boot error was simple

Download and install the latest Chameleon RC2 Boot Loader..link here

I really cant say a big enough thankyou to these guys for sorting that bug out, ill be making a donation for sure!

Just wanna say thankyou to all the people that have shared their knowledge and expertise on osx86 Hackintosh, I may have got no replies here but others have and that was all i needed to get up and running as without it id be nowhere!
