    Hi there

Same problem here, my Laptop has a 128Mb ATI Mobility Radeon 9600 in it with a "native resolution" of 1280x800 on the built in Display Flat Panel (DFP).

But (running HotISO 10.4.6 in native mode, very stable, very quick, AC97 sound, Power Management, CPU Fan Throttling all working 100%!) I can ONLY have 1024x768 - works OK but looks lousy on the "Widescreen" DFP.

Have tried the Callisto Drivers, so on - no help.

I can set 1280x1024 (using "Graphics Mode" at Boot time) on an externel CRT.

The "?Video" Query does not show ANY Widscreen res at all.

Oh yes, Darwin Boot Loader shows the "Vesa v2.0 128Mb (ATI Mobility Radeon 9600)"

    Any ideas, help?

    Thanks in advance

    - R

    Question

    Hi!!

I don't know if you have the same problem that i have. See also my question in HACKINTOSH>HARDWARE>GRAPHIC CARDS>how to install Callisto for my X300?

I hope that you must install the Callisto build 003 or 008.

Thanks. Tell me if you find any answer.

Default are you insene people?! the drivers come with a verry clear installation explanation

This is a step by step guide to install Callisto:

    1. Open CallistoHAL.kext than open Info.plist -> under IOPCIMatch replace 4150 with your boards ID. After the editing is done do a save and close

    2. Move the files "Callisto.kext" & "CallistoHAL.kext" manually to "/System/Lybrary/Extensions/" it will probably ask you to autentificate, I hope you know how to do that

    3. This step will set the right permissions for the files you just copyed, so open a new Terminal window and type:

    sudo chown -R root:wheel /System/Library/Extensions/Callisto*

    sudo chmod -R 755 /System/Library/Extensions/Callisto*

    4. When you are done with this steps do the following:

    sudo rm /System/Library/Extensions.*

    5. Then do a reboot! let me know if this works for you!

yeah although the 9600/9700 pro has qe and ci on osx native drivers still res support sucks and using callisto drivers for me disables dvd playback, slows down xbench performance (using 10.4.6)... im just wondering- since osx86 started these chipsets were already available how come we still cant get full support for them like what boris did for x1600? if only i had a desktop so that could upgrade to a x1600 card...

anyway atm 9700 M runs great- although im stuck with 1280x1024 by editing boot.plist, i get window tearing (not just mouse) with 1400x1050- has anyone got a fix for that?

you need to use Callisto Framebuffer on your native ATI kexts...

to use it, edit Info.plist on ATIRadeon9700GA.plugin (on /System/Library/Extensions/)... search for

    <key>IOProviderClass</key>
    <string>IONDRVFramebuffer</string>

    and change to

    <key>IOProviderClass</key>
    <string>CallistoFB</string>

Now you can change resolutions and uses QE/CI.

    remember to check permissions...

    sudo -s
    chown -R root:wheel /System/Library/Extensions/ATIRadeon9700GA.plugin/
    chmod -R 755 /System/Library/Extensions/ATIRadeon9700GA.plugin/
