Default 1.2 GHz Core 2 Duo only when booted with -x, normal boot shows Core 2 Solo

    i have iDeneb v10.5.7
Couldn't get it to see the cpu as it is core 2 duo.
Only when booted with option -x show as core 2 duo.
Maybe during install i added too many ideneb fixes/additional drivers etc.
Is there a way to uninstall/remove unused ideneb components or ketxs?
Does anyone know which kext causes the cpu to be displayed as solo?
    thanks

    Default

ok i solved the problem by creating a /Extras/smbios.plist file.
in it i added the following as described here

    <key>SMcputype</key>
    <string>769</string>

If the /Extras folder is not there, it must be created by sudo mkdir /Extras
i copied a .plist file and edited to have the header section of the file.

also in the /Library/Preferences/SystemConfiguration/com.apple.Boot.plist file i added:

    <key>SMBIOSdefaults</key>
    <string>No</string>

Now the CPU shows as Core 2 Duo.

    I hope this helps someone.
Let me know if this works for you.
