Need to Upgrade jailbroken iOS 3.1 to 4.2 or 4.3
Hi All,
I Just started here, have a basic question. I have a jailbroken iTouch with iOS 3.1. I wanna upgrade it to iOS 4.2 or 4.3 and then preferably jailbreak it again. Now, the question is whether I will lose all my saved game data and music and all the other stuff on my iTouch if I upgrade it and after that I jailbreak it. Will it be like all my installed games, songs, videos will get deleted on doing the upgrade?? Also, in case I will be losing the data any way to prevent that, as in any 3rd party softwares which can help me out here. Thanks in advance for the help guyz.

If you plug into iTunes and right click on your phone and choose to make a Back Up, you will not lose your data. This is usually automatically done when you complete a sync in most cases as well, but I recommend forcing a backup before you begin upgrading. It's also recommended that since you're going from 3.x to 4.x, that you do a shift-restore and not an upgrade. You can then restore from backup and copy your appdata over, but doing the full restore vs. the upgrade wipes the device first and can stop a lot of issues you may have.
