JAILBREAKME - Mobile Safari Crashing (not a n00b error!)
Hi,
Is anyone else having problems with Mobile Safari crashing after jailbreakng with Jailbreakme? Not during the install or immediately after but in general use afterwards?
Im on IOS 4.0.1 on a IPhone 4G. It seems to be happening whilst using Google and gets into an endless crash loop. IF I ssh into the device and delete /private/var/mobile/Library/SuspendState.plist i get safari to load up at the bookmark screen and I can select another site i.e. yahoo and MS doesnt crash, but does again when revisiting google.
Sporadically MS will not crash upon revisiting google and will then be fine again for a while.
Turning off javascript doesn not help, neither does clearing the cache.
Curiously my 3GS 4.0 (which was pwnd at 3.1.2 and upgraded with sn0wbreeze since {windows sorry!}) does not do this.
Ive compared the mobilesafari binary across both devices and they are identical and both permissions have been set the same.
I can provide crash logs if that helps but they are beyond my comprehension.
Only difference I can see so far is there are some chmod permission differences across the devices in /usr/lib from the jailbreakme JB to the pwnage JB
Any help would be appreciated?
Regards,
Paul

Best I can offer at this point is that I jailbroke using jailbreakme.com and I'm not having the same problems =\

It happens to me too. After the Jailbreakme.com safari crashes sometimes. I don't have an iphone 4, it happens on my iPad.

I'm having the same problem on iPhone 4 with 4.0.1 :-(
Everytime I go to a google page (home, gmail, calendar, etc.), safari crashes...
Maybe it has to do with localization? I'm in Spain...

Try turning off location services.. worked for me

I can chime in that I have Location services turned off pretty much 99.95% of the time, and so that may be why I wasn't experiencing the issues -- have only had one crash since I last posted in this thread, so I don't think it's happening here.

I use location services in the 'on' condition and have not had any problems with Mobile Safari crashing on 4.0.1. Sorry I cannot be of any help.
