Having issues uploading to 4.2.1 Firmware [3GS]
Hi,
Just wondering if anyone can help me, I've got an older 3GS model and trying to flash to the new firmware 4.2.1 however it hangs on the apple logo..
Run redsn0w
Locate 4.2.1 firmware
Start phone in mode as required
Redsn0w flashes and advises that the rest of the procedure takes place on phone
Phone goes through updating flash and receive the final message that it's Installing Bundles
Apple logo comes on and then hangs from this point on
The phone keeps pinging as if the USB cable had kept being inserted and removed
The loading sign on the iphone comes on
Phone reboots
Windows shows "Ducky Iphone Connected", I can browse files etc
Iphone keeps rebooting
I've tried flashing 3 times now but the same issue any ideas please?

Do you have any programs installed that allow you to access the iPhone as a drive? Are you running iTunes 10.1?
The exploit used for tethered jailbreak is more sensitive to anything else that uses the AppleMobileDevice connection to talk to the phone normally this is just iTunes, but other programs like DiskAid, iPhone Browser, itunnel all could cause this.
Also, if you have used any non official pwnagetool bundles to load 4.2.1 without upgrading baseband you likely have incorrect kernel patches.
