Stuck in Recovery Mode and Error 28

Itunes (10.5.0.142)
Iphone OS (unknown)
Windows 7 x64

Hello,
I managed to get an iPod touch 2g but its stuck in recovery mode. Attempting to restore it in iTunes would give me an error code of 28.

Here is the log from pastie.

This is almost always a hardware issue:

unable to find AppleNANDFTL

This usually means your NAND has died...

Try a different operating system my ipod touch 2nd generation never restores on a mac and when i tried windows worked like a magic. you can also try a different usb cable. good luck!
