Hey, I recently enabled openssh, and got everything up and running, and everything's working on my PC, but I just have no idea how to use it. I've got WinSCP and all that good stuff, I can see all the apps on my iPod touch (2nd Gen, 3.1.2), I just have no idea how to do anything. I'd like to start by modifying the icons. Any help would be good, whether it has to do with modifying my icons or not. Thanks.
I believe to modify the icons, all you need to do is SSH into your iPod, go to where the apps are. Open the folder of the app you want to modify. Like if you want to modify the Pocket God icon, go to the Pocket God app. Then copy the iTunesArtwork file. Copy it to your desktop and modify it however you want to (just make sure it still has the same dimensions as the original app, and don't change the title). SSH into your iPod again, and move the file to EXACTLY where you found it in the first place. Close the SSH, and respring. If all went right, it will work.
Always make a backup of files you replace on your iPhone before you permanently replace them.
Just sayin'. That said, the above instructions are correct. Worth mentioning though to always make a backup. You can cause SERIOUS problems if you replace/erase/change the wrong files and don't have originals to replace.
