I did the jailbreakme -- appeared the apple for about 1 minute and it then restarted...

it looks like the JB worked, however there is not Cydia ...

Try a search with spotlight, it might be on another springboard screen than the homescreen.

Otherwise, run jailbreakme again - or restore 3.1.3 and run jailbreakme again.

Instead of spotlight there is any Windows alternative?

Spotlight on the iPod touch, swipe right from the homescreen.

If I search there it cannot find Cydia...

I have tried several other times to run jailbreakme, but the result is the same: after reboot there is no Cydia

What else can I do? I think I can try with Spiritjb, but it requires a <9 version of iTunes... I have the 10.... do you know if it works with the 10 (it's pretty new, so maybe it's untested)?

Try with spirit. Note that spirit only works with iTunes 9.1.x

I feel ya, the same thing happan to me... I own a iPod 3rd gen 8gb with the mc model. I done some research and it seem there is still no jailbreak for the model mc's yet but let's be patient. Btw blackra1n will not work on model mc's so don't do it anymore or eles your iPod gon brick.
